OneRepublic Releases Music Video for Kaiju No. 8 Ending Theme “Nobody”

The Kaiju No. 8 anime’s ending theme by OneRepublic, titled “No one,” has launched an official music video. It was revealed after the anime’s final episode on June 29. The video options the band performing in a Karaoke room with Tokyo sceneries and comic-like results.

“No one” by OneRepublic was first launched on April 12, 2024, on a number of streaming platforms. It was written by band members Brent Kutzle and Ryan Tedder, along with Joe Henderson, Tyler Spry, and Josh Varnadore. The lyrics and album cowl have been additionally beforehand posted on OneRepublic’s official X (previously Twitter):

In an interview on the official website, frontman Ryan Tedder shared that “No one” was particularly written for the Kaiju No. 8 anime. He mentioned that in Spring 2023, the Kaiju No. 8 group reached out and confirmed them footage and storyboards of the anime. After seeing the designs that impressed him, Ryan thought of how he needed the sound of the track to be uplifting, enjoyable, and like a second of brightness. He mentioned that the track was “as impressed as attainable from Japan.”

When requested in regards to the that means of the track’s title, Ryan described “No one” as “I’ll have your again, I shield you, I will likely be there for you greater than anybody else on the earth. There’s no one that will likely be there for you want me.” Watch the complete interview beneath:

Kaiju No. 8 is a manga by Naoya Matsumoto. It has been serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Soar+ app and web site since July 2020. An anime adaptation by Manufacturing I.G. aired in April 2023. A second anime season was introduced instantly after the primary one ended. Crunchyroll streams the anime and describes the plot:
